Downtown Revitalization Initiative
The Downtown Revitalization Initiative is transforming downtown neighborhoods into vibrant communities where New Yorkers want to live, work, and raise families. New York State has been issued one-hundred million dollars to divide between downtown neighborhoods across the state; the Mohawk Valley being one of them. Within the Mohawk Valley, the award will go to sixteen different projects to redevelop the city's underutilized buildings.
We are excited to share that we are able to be a part of the sixteen projects within the Mohawk Valley. The Utica Center for Development has been awarded $650,000 to put towards rehabilitating our Veteran's Fitness and Wellness Center. This project will include the restoration of our locker rooms and our parking area of the Veteran's Fitness and Wellness Center. This project will enhance a valuable recreational amenity for downtown living and community well-being.
We look forward to seeing not only how this award will impact the Utica Center for Development but also the city of Utica.
